Pedestrianise Stourbridge High Street now to allow safe social distancing
Temporarily close Stourbridge High Street to vehicles to allow for safe social distancing.

The pavements are extremely narrow and do not lend themselves to social distancing. Pedestrians are forced to cross the road or walk in the road to keep the 2m distance, putting them at risk from oncoming vehicles. Queues for banks and post office snake along the pavements making it impossible to pass.

We've been told shops and services should only reopen when it is safe to do so, yet the means of accessing the shops themselves is not safe at all.

I have been advised the High St could close from 15th June, but this cannot wait. Even with a small selection of shops open it is impossible to navigate the High Street and keep within social distancing guidelines.

Please fast track any consultation as an urgent matter and keep our community safe NOW.
